Why Athletes Are Overpaid

You trained for this moment, you shoot, you score, and the cheers go wild. You make money, tons of it, but have you ever thought about other people doing others jobs, especially the dangerous ones and don’t make as much money as you? While athletes devote their lives into their job, nurses, doctors, construction workers, firefighters, and military fighters don’t even gain that much and they serve this country (Nurses make 71,000 dollars, doctors make 189,000 dollars, construction workers make about from 20,230 and 59,900 dollars, and military fighters make 76,841 dollars). A numerous amount of people believe that athletes are overpaid. Compared to people who work and dedicate their entire life, their income added up all these years still does not add up to how much an athlete makes per year (Averagely, people make around 50,000 dollars per year.) Athletes train for hours and hours, sweating, feeling light headed, being nervous and having other feelings. Also they do deserve the payment because of the hardships athletes have to go through from, illnesses, injuries, stress, and no freedom. While athletes do have a reason to earn the big bucks, some other people also deserve to earn about the same amount of money for the same reasons like injuries and stress. Say surgeons for an example, when they are operating on a patient, their life is on the line, and he or she has to trust their life into the surgeon’s hand. If the operation is unsuccessful, the guilt is there and stuck forever for not being able to save a person’s life. There is stress and disappoint like how athletes feel when they lose a game, so shouldn’t doctors, surgeons, firefighters, and other jobs deserve the same
