Christians live in a fallen world, where there are genocides, hate crimes, slander, sin and brokenness. Because believers should be “in the world and not of the world”(John 15:19), we should be the light in this troubling world. However, the attempt at being the light in the world can throw off some unbelievers. Judgement according to the general web is to “form an opinion of something.” In this case, we should form Christ-like opinions, and see lifestyles from the perspective of Christ. When we form opinions, that lifestyles of drugs and alcohol, worship of fame and power, and pride are terrible, etc unbelievers may formulate the idea that not only do we believers think their lifestyles are bad, we also …show more content…
If we are called to love others, then it would only make sense to want what is best for them. And part of what is best for them, is to judge their lifestyles, but with gentleness. Christians should judge because of love for others. If we love others, we will tell them there is a better way of living- free from the drinking, partying, slander, hate, pride, a money God, etc. Judging them gently, by telling them that their sin isn’t the best way to live and also telling them that we do not hate them as people will help them when the day of judgement comes. When they stand before the throne of Jesus on the day of judgement, they may regret not having listened to the words of the Christian who told them their lifestyle was not the best, when in fact that Christian was only trying to help them, by trying to make sure they accepted Jesus so they could go to heaven. As Christians, if we do not tell them the good news, they may want to continue with their transgressions, not repent, and not confess Jesus with their mouths, souls, and hearts. Without Jesus, there can be no alternative route to heaven. If we don’t tell them of their not so wise choices(judge) now, they may only continue pursuing the transgressions until the day they die- and then it will be too late for them to accept
