For individuals like this some sort of rehabilitation or therapy should be conducted before they are released whether or not they served their time given. As for the expiration of sentence, well if you did your time and have little to no disciplinary actions then yes you should be released back into society. I probably agree mostly with discretionary release, but not without concern. Yes, having a board of people look over your record and speak in behalf of society as to whether the inmate should or should not reenter society is a good idea. The thing that worries me about this type of release is who are you sure the inmate is not putting on a show for the board members and officials to get an early release date so they can continue their criminal behavior out in society? I think that the type of crime and previous records should play heavily on the possible release of an inmate as I’m sure they
