Why Did Germany Start World War I?

Many people think that Germany started world war I. If you google who started world war I you will see many websites and papers that agree with this statement.
Although, no one country stared the war and all of the involved parties are partly to blame. It was Austria Hungary that was mostly to blame. Austria Hungary started World
War I by using war to distract form internal problems, delivering a harsh ultimatum and expecting an answer in three days, and declaring war after all of the demands in the ultimatum were not met. Austria Hungary was having many problems internally. The empire was trying to take hold of all of the Balkan Peninsula and for many years before World War I, Austria
Hungary was at high tensions with their neighbors. In 1912 Austria Hungary
went to war with the rest of the balkans. (4) When the war ended, Austria had much more land than it had before and helped create the nation of Albina to cut Serbia off from the sea. (3) This caused tension with Serbia and their ally Russia. At the time that war broke out Austria had 11 different ethnic groups under its rule (2) and wanted Serbia also under it’s control.
The empire was struggling to keep all of these groups under it’s control. The empire saw a war with Serbia and an option to gain more land and to quiet rebellions within its borders. After the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, Austria Hungary was mad at
Serbia and wanted an excuse to declare war of Serbia. The Austria Hungarian government issued an strict ultimatum to Serbia and expected a response within three days. The ultimatum was comprised of ten primary demands. They stripped Serbia of almost all of its rights as a country and some demands even violated the Serbian constitution. Serbia agreed to all of the demands except two of them because they violated their constitution. (6) In response to this Austria Hungary declared war on Serbia just two days later. (1) Austria Hungary set Serbia up to not meet their demands so
Austria could declare war on them. After Serbia rejected two of the demands on the ultimatum, Austria Hungary was the first country to declare war on another country. Germany had given Austria Hungary what is called a blank check. (5) This means that Austria Hungary could do whatever
it wants to Serbia as long as it did it quickly, before Serbia’s allies got involved. Serbia’s allies were France and Russia and both of them were historic enemies of Germany.
Germany wanted Austria Hungary to attack Serbia quickly so Germany would not have to go to war with Russia and France. Austria Hungary, not Germany, was the first country to declare war on another country in World War I. Austria Hungary was the main country that started World War 1 because they wanted a war to advert from their internal affairs, delivered a list of demands to Serbia after Archduke Franz Ferdinand was murdered and, were the first country to declare war on Serbia after they refused two of the demands because it conflicted with their constitution. Austria Hungary made hostile moves against Serbia for many years and there had to be a breaking point but, Austria Hungary pushed it. It was Austria Hungary, not Germany, that started World War I.
