Why Did World War 1 Start

Do you know how World War 1 started? Well if not, in this essay I will be telling you the many reasons how and why the United States got involved in the war. Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria and his pregnant wife were assassinated on June 28, 1914. After the assassination there were a series of events that happened and triggered World War 1 to occur.The next reason why it started was because on May 7, 1915 a German submarine launched a torpedo at the Lusitanian, which was a boat that had 1,959 people aboard that day. Everyone on the Lusitania died including 128 Americans, and that is one reason why the U.S. took part in the war. The alliance system was another cause of World War 1. The alliance system was a group of countries that teamed
up to fight together and not against each other. Countries such as Germany, Austria, Hungary, Italy, and Turkey were on one team against Russia, U.S., France, and Great Britain which were on the other team. World War 1 was very different from previous wars because there were new weapons involved in battle. Many new weapons and vehicles were brought into battle such as tanks, aircrafts, flamethrowers, poisonous gases, and so much more. The reason why World War 1 was the bloodiest war was because of the new weapons that were introduced. Next, trench warfare created stalemated battles because neither side fighting would make any improvement on the battlefield. The trenches produced problems for boths sides causing battle to last for great amounts of time. New advanced weapons were brought into battle such as machine guns, mortars, aircrafts and much more. The new weapons are what made this war so deadly and bloody from other wars in the past.
In conclusion, Germany surrendered causing the rest of the countries to stop fighting. This four year war ended on November 11, 1918. That is how World War 1 ended.
