Why Did World War 1 Start

What were the motives that in the end started World War I start? Did it start because of an assassination or did it start because of nationalism and imperialism? On June 28, the archduke of the Austro-Hungarian Empire died along with his wife as well. The assassination basically sparked WWI and because of this the Austrian government was extremely angry. The Austrian government demanded apologies of some kind and this is how WWI started.
On July 28 Austria-Hungary declares war on Serbia because of their actions. Because of this a chain reaction soon occurred. After Austria-Hungary declares war Russia declares war then Germany then France. After that Britain joined France and Russia to form the triple entente while the Germans, Austro Hungarians,Italians and the Ottomans or Turks formed the triple alliance. These
The reasons for this includes for resources and for nationalism. Nationalism is when people of the country feel like no other country is better than us a patriotic feeling which is one of the reasons countries like Britain would imperialize.During WWI countries were trying to gain respect from others and to gain that territory but most importantly to have pride in yourself and to have pride in the people of your country because of the things you done to that country that impacted it in the way you wanted it to. Another cause that start the war was militarism.Germany during WWI had about 4.5 million active troops in the war and I may have heard that during the World Wars movie or video.
