Why Fear Matters
states "Fear matters," "It's a good thing," she adds, "because fear makes you do things that keep you alive." It goes back to knowing having prior knowledge in counteracting to fear resulting in the choice of making smart decisions to prevent conflict. Additionally, fear matters because it can also push an individual to the edge to display absurd behavior, which can lead to a intensified conflict between parties. Fear is a preparation for movement. (Reinhardt, 2002) It’s vitally important in hopes to control conflict. For example, the emotion fear can matter in an abusive relationship between a husband and his wife. If the individual who is being abused constantly tries to get out of the relationship, the actions can be detrimental and serious conflict between both parties will occur. Regardless of how many times a man might beat his wife, because of how fearful she is of him, she will refuse to leave and to contact the authorities on her husband. Why? Because she will fear retaliation; being killed; the abuser might hurt other family members; of not being believed. As previously stated above, fear makes you do things that …show more content…
Everyone reacts to fear in different ways and may not use these techniques in order. One might choose to use or two techniques to overcome their specific fear and drop the rest. Fear is an inner emotion, it can actually be dealt with in a view ways. For one, fear can be dealt with by coming to terms with oneself on what one is actually fearful of. Once they understand what they actually are fearful of, they will be identify ways to express this fear. This can cause the individual to have open lines of communication internally or others who they trust and confide in to provide assistance to help them to overcome their
