Why High School Should Be Free Essay
50% or more high schoolers would love to acquire more freedom during the school days. High school students should have the opportunity to acquire freedom due to preparing students for college, responsibility, and to make mature decisions. The freedom that the students have could be taken away if the students abuse their privileges.
The first reason why high school students should acquire more freedom is because if the teacher show that they trust their students, then most likely they will start acting their age. High schoolers want to be treated with as much responsibility and maturity but still being able to learn and have fun. When teachers treat the Students like kids, most likely will they act like kids. students more freedom then the students would act more mature. For example if teachers let the students go to the restrooms whenever during class. That would then teach the students that if they choose to leave than what they miss would be more important than going to the bathroom.
Another reason why students should be given more freedom, is that if you have the honor of taking a college class then you should be able to leave. Right away you are probably thinking this is a bad idea, but think about all the responsibilities the students could learn. Yes, I know that junior and seniors can already do that but what about the sophomores that are 16 and are passing all their classes. The only way that the students would be able to leave is, they MUST have a license and must be passing all classes. This would benefit the student because some students would have time to leave and take a break from all the stress that school can give. It also gives students a chance to get some fresh air, fresh air is good for the mind. When the students come back then they will be able to learn. Also this time could also give the students time to run home and let the dog out, and grab something to eat so aren’t hungry during class. My last reason is that giving the students more freedom is teaching us more responsibilities.
In college the professor don’t care if you are paying attention to him or paying more attention to your phone, Thats the student fault. They aren’t going to keep nagging at you when you need to come in and retake a test. They don’t feel bad that you got an F on a test, they are pretty much say sorry welcome to the real world. So high school should be like that, I know that as you get older that’s how it goes but maybe starting earlier. For example if you do have the privilege of taking a college class and you can leave, but you know that you have a test next hour and you should study. That would be teaching us maybe that we always can’t do what we want, and sometimes we may have to do something we don’t want to. This could also teach us more about the outcome of not studying and leaving to go and get something to eat. Last giving us more freedom is we would get to learn when to leave where ever and be able to get back to the school and not be late.
