Why I Chose Cosmetology
While in college I plan to major in business management because I want to start my own business dealing with cosmetology. For those who do not know what cosmetology means it is the professional skill or practice of beautifying the face, hair, skin, and nails. Opening up my own business was something I knew I wanted to do ever since I knew what kind of career I wanted to pursue. As far as taking the military route I knew that lifestyle was not something I wanted to do or for me as a person. Going to the military is good if that is what you want to do, but I had different plans than that.
I already knew expenses was something I had to worry about while making these decisions, but it is worth it. I know that my family will help me pursue my dreams and make them happen no matter the cost really. Some people are not given money to attend school and that is because your parent or parents make too much money, but it seems

Community service is a requirement needed to graduate from a Prince George’s County school, with the idea it has peaked interest in giving back to the community. While doing community service, I have learned the importance of giving back to the community and helping out in ways I never thought to do. My plan when I become successful in life is to start my own charity or community service team. The goal is to give back to people in need in ways that include clothes, shelter, food, and even services elderly cannot do for themselves. My team would be comprised of high schoolers around the area in need of service hours. I think this is a pretty neat idea because although they may be doing the service because it is a requirement, it may impact them and the way they think about the community like it did me. Giving back is a wonderful feeling and I would love to help out as much as possible in the

The ancient Greeks made lavish use of perfumes and cosmetics in their religious rites, in grooming, and for medicinal purposes. They built elaborate baths and developed excellent methods of dressing the hair and caring for the skin and nails. Greek women applied preparations of white lead on their faces, kohl on their eyes, and vermilion on their cheeks and lips. The brilliant red pigment was made by grinding cinnabar, a mineral that is the chief source of mercury, to a fine powder. It was mixed with ointment or dusted on the skin in the same way as modern cosmetics are applied…

~Mahatma Gandhi. Service is to help others in need or not in need. I am excited to try to do even more service in the future. I have many ideas for the school when it comes to service. One idea is to help children in hospitals by just making them something like a card or decoration. My dad is working with a company that is rebuilding St. Peter’s Hospital and I know that some of the kids in the children’s section of the hospital would love something to cheer them up. Right now for service I give my old clothes and toys to my younger cousin and if she doesn’t want them, we take them to the Salvation Army. Also like I had mentioned in the first paragraph we donate over three or four hundred dollars a year to the WGY Christmas wish organization. That money goes to poor families so the parents can buy presents or food for their children. I know I need to work on this skill in particular but I have many good…

Honestly, I know little to nothing about the cost of college, but I have seen the toll of it from my parents. With my sister already in her junior year in a state university, they’ve told me time and time again to save water and electricity to reduce the costs of the bills. When I asked about it they listed to me all the different types of expenses they’ve had to pay for my sister: housing, tuition, food, and clothing. As a high school senior about to graduate and about to go to college, my parents had to pool their savings and what other money they have so that they can brace themselves to support me as well when I continue my education. Although it will be me in campus doing all the work, the cost itself to get me there is a heavy burden…
