During my elementary and junior high years, Ive constantly was being taught about how the ancient Hawaiians lived off the land and the conflicts that happened throughout the years of the Hawaiian monarchy. I've always had a knack for learning about different cultures, but out of them all the Hawaiian culture has intrigued me the most. At the age of seven, I began to grow passionate about the graceful and storytelling Hawaiian dance, Hula. My passion for hula continues to grow everyday. Each time I learn a new choreography I obtain more knowledge on our beautiful state of Hawaii through the melodies and movements. While I was with my Seabury freshman student shadow touring Seabury Hall the first class we attended was Hawaiian Ensembles. Once I walked in to the classroom and saw students singing and dancing to Hawaiian melodies with pride and confidence, I immediately knew that Seabury was the school for me. Throughout my school years the majority of my class would push Hawaiian studies to the side and lose interest immediately, but for some reason I was always one of those small group of students who stayed intrigued and hungered for more knowledge. I know that if I attend Seabury it would increase my performing arts abilities in the Hawaiian category. I as well know that if I was to attend Seabury it will not only teach me more about the Hawaiian culture, but a variety of other cultures that will fill me with knowledge about the world's different lifestyles,traditions,and
