I used to be called big head because of my hijab. Yet, each year the memory of 9/11 reminded the students what I am based on the hijab I wore on my head. I could see the looks in their eyes as I walk down the hallways, at lunch I could hear the whispers. Once in gym some girls tried to grab my scarf off while playing basketball, and I knew that they meant it.
