Throughout high school, I always envisioned myself attending Texas A&M University. Although there are still a few steps I need to take, I’m going to do whatever it takes to achieve them. I know it will definitely be a challenge, but I am willing to work hard and make sacrifices to better my education and future.

My parents came into this country to give my brothers and me a better living condition and a brighter future. They have made huge sacrifices in order to achieve this. My father for example, works seven days a week. I see him struggle, I see him tired, but I also see what he is doing for his family. I want to be able to go to school, pursue my dreams, obtain my dream job and help others become better people. I have gained skills I never anticipated such as being more independent and disciplined with myself. School has become what I always wanted it to be, my number one priority. I am starting to realize that I have taken a lot for granted. I wish that I would have taken high school a little more seriously, but now I have a chance to prove myself at this university and I plan to work very hard, dedicate myself, and time in order to achieve good grades and a high GPA. I knew that striving for good grades would be essential in order to achieve my goals. I have learned that some of the most important tools for academic success are discipline, dedication, and determination. Being here around all of these aggies has really opened me up and has made me become more involved. I will soon be joining a student run organization called Texas A&M Off-Road. And also I have been attending Breakaway since last semester and I absolutely love it. I want to be able to participate in many more different organizations that Texas A&M has to
