Nursing is a career full of rewards and challenges and I think this is what draws me to it the most. The idea of helping people in an environment that is constantly changing and where no two days are the same, sounds like an ideal career for me. I have volunteered at a few high profile events such as: the London Olympics, the London marathon and the regent street Christmas lights switch on, which gave me good team-working skills and communication skills, but I have also volunteered within my local community in youth clubs as a youth support volunteer where I helped the person who ran the youth club to teach the young people, who were from different backgrounds to make friends by using my knowledge and skills to help teach them to bake. Helping people is a passion of mine and I have volunteered in the children’s outpatient department at Evelina Children’s hospital; where I helped patients to use the self-check in machines and also to show them to where they needed to go. I am also currently in the process of joining the Army Reserves as a combat medical technician; where I will work as part of a team to ensure the soldiers are fit and healthy to carry out their tasks and to treat anyone in an emergency situation. I play volleyball and am looking forward to playing again whilst at University because I recognise how important good physical health is to maintaining good mental
