Animal experimentation, also known as animal testing, is the use of human substitutes animals for experiments. Experiments on animals began with Greek anatomists. Who are physicians, and writers who formed theories on European medicine . During that time doctors had no understanding of the anatomy of humans or any other species. These physicians would perform surgery live on animals to grasp the parts of an animal's anatomy and their functions. Through the knowledge of dissecting animals many doctors, physicians, and scientists have discovered cures for diseases over the course of time.
