Possible setbacks must be considered and purposeful schemes arranged for when the unexpected shows up. A dream is impossible to accomplish when there is no plan in place to achieve them. Setting goals can be beneficial in getting one step closer to achieving dreams and aspirations. For example, it’s like watching a flower grow. When you grow a flower you need the container to put the flower in. Prepare and sterilize the container. Next add the soil in and then plant the seed. Water the plant, make sure the plant gets as much sunlight needed for it to survive. Slowly but surely with the proper plan and care your flower starts to bloom. Goal setting is the container, it’s the base to what you want to achieve in life. Sterilize your container, is just like writing down those dreams. Place the soil in, add water to your ideas, and actually take the time to bring sunlight and action in accomplishing your dreams. Students should create goals because; making progress in something helps motivate yourself in believing that you can achieve your dreams. Otherwise your dreams and aspirations are nothing more than vague ideas moving around in your…

To use goal setting a clear realistic goal needs to be set. "SMART" goals are the way to having great goals. S stands for specific as in the goal is detailed and will help you reach something you want to happen. M stands for measurable and A stands for achievable which means the goal is realistic and can be reached within time set to reach it. R stands for relevant which means the goal is important to you and by reaching it progress is made towards your healthy life. Finally, T stands for time-bound which means will the goal be possible within the time set. Whether it's short term or long term the goal needs to be met for the goal to be time-bound and measurable. Using this skill in my life I can set "smart" goals to achieve important things that help me love healthy. My goal is to play more during a basketball game within the next 3 games. It's a smart goal because it meets all the requirements to make it a smart goal. I will brainstorm ways to reach my goal and seek out people who can help me reach my goal. Ideas to help me play more in the next three games are, work harder in practice, encourage others/be a good teammate, and show my energy and passion on the court. Within the next three games I will monitor my progress and make changes to my ideas if they aren't working and after all three games I will evaluate if I met my…
