As we all know the district is probably the first one to see the test scores. After, they see the score they start to make decisions about if the school is going to get an increase in fund, if the fund is going to decrease, or if it is going to stay the same. For example, if Whites Creek High School’s test scores were higher than usual, the district would determine that the school should be given an increase of fund. The district will also determine from the high stake test scores if the teachers have been doing there jobs, as teachers and teaching the student the best they could. Finally, the district will be determining from the scores if the school has the possibility of being taken over. An example, for the previous statement, is Brick Church Middle school had low performing scores, so the school was taken over by a charter school. Districts are not the only ones that take a part in the importance of high stake test, so do schools and students to show what they as a whole did. A school as an individual also takes a big part in, why high stake testing is important because it determines various titles toward the school. There can be either positive or negative consequences toward the school. If the school does a horrible job, overall, on the test, they will get a low rating. However, if they get a good score, overall, the school would get a good academic ranking. The school’s test scores could trigger to either good or bad consequences. One of the bad consequences, for example, is replacement of faculty. Additionally, a good consequence could be more student enrollment. The final reason why schools take a big part is that the school will have either an enthusiastic or antipathetic, public statement. Out of everybody, if there weren’t students, the district nor the school could be determined in a certain way. Students are the main recipients toward high stake testing, everything revolves around the students, so whatever the students do the school and the district will get the review off of it.
Students are the ones, who should take the test seriously, the most. It influences and determines what should come up next for the students. As an individual student, the test scores will determine rather or not if he/she should move on the next grade. However, if it is for seniors in high school it should determine rather or not to get the diploma. If a student is making very high scores on every test, that individual should be moved on to a better rated school. It also determines where the student is struggling at or which subject they need help on the most. It could reflect on them towards what college they want to go to. For example, if you want to get into Vanderbilt, you should have the proper and efficient test scores to attend, and if you do not you will get rejected. Students take the most important role in high stake testing, so they should think it is
important. My opinion toward, why high stake testing is important because it figures out what is supposed to be said from or by the district, school, and student. High stake testing is taken by every student in the state at the end of each school year. It could determine various things about the student, school, or district, as a whole, or individually. It could lead to many affirmative or dismissive thoughts of others in the public. Overall, high stake testing is important because it will boost and strengthening our nations or state academic rankings. In conclusion, high stake testing should be taken seriously, so it could determine what is up for you in the future, is it good or bad, you will just have to do it to see it.
