Why Is Peta Unethical
There are two main organizations that dedicate their company to protecting animals from wrongful treatment and abuse by the hands of humans. Those companies are, people for the ethical treatment of animals “PETA” and the American society for the prevention of cruelty to animals “ASPCA”. Peta’s main claim is that we are all animals and that we are all equal. They explain how people excuse their actions by stating that “Human beings have justified wars, slavery, sexual violence, and military conquests through the mistaken belief that those who are “different” do not experience suffering and are not worthy of moral consideration” (peta). Photographer and author Jo-Anne McArther captures the image of a dying bull, where the humans’ actions are justified because the action is part of their culture: Words: 128 PETA as an organization are also against killing animals for their skin. There are multiple scenes in the commercial where the screen goes black and a sentence appears on the screen. Jeremy Rifkin 's article, “A Change of Heart About Animals” argues that animals are more like humans than we imagine and as a result should be treated with the care that they deserve. Rifkin develops and supports his argument using facts about the animals and these facts end up touching hearts. In order for Rifkin to get his point across he uses a smart technique by using pathos and plays with the emotions of his audience. Rifkin loves animals and his passion and love evokes emotions that the audience can feel. Animals can feel and have emotions similar to ours. in agreement with Rifkin, I argue that it is wrong and inhumane to kill or abuse animals because they feel, they deserve to have space and should be valued as much as humans are It is wrong no animal should be killed due to abuse or testing, it is wrong and inhumane.…

Sporadically dispersed amongst the pictures and videos of abused animals are facts and statistics. One statistic says, “every single hour, an animal is violently abused.” These statistics give more of a sense of reality to the viewer, meaning it is logically important to donate. The minimal amount of text shows logos because throughout the whole commercial, the ASPCA’s phone number and website appear on the bottom of the screen. There is no unnecessary information that clutters the commercial taking away the organizations…

The Spot: Lingering videos of dispirited animals immediately flood the screen. Sarah McLauchlan’s song “In the Arms of an Angel” plays boldly in the background. In between the videos, startling facts appear plainly across the screen: “Every day in America thousands of animals suffer from cruelty and neglect,” “Thousands were rescued last year,” and “But for thousands of others help came too late.” Sarah McLauchlan, supporter of and speaker for the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), then appears on the screen with two dogs. She says, “These animals are crying out for our help,” and, ”For just $18 a month you can help rescue animals from abuse and provide them with medical care, food,…

ASPCA Advertisement The creators of advertisements often have the same goals in mind as a persuasive writer. Both of these people want their audience to believe something to be true or persuade them to do something. Ethos is used to establish credibility, Logos to provide reason, and Pathos to build an emotional connection. The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) created an advertisement with the intention of persuading viewers to donate to the organization by using Ethos, Logos, and Pathos.…

The ASPCA believes that the successful prosecution of animal cruelty offenders should include fines, jail sentences, and counseling to prevent additional acts of cruelty ( Guiding Principles, 2016). They believe that the people who commit criminal acts toward animals should get a punishment that will match the offense. The assumption that they are making is that there is a correlation between animals and human violence. The are also assuming that if someone is abusive to animals, then they are abusive to humans as well. This is not a fair assumption. There are certain people who have criminal pasts and they find a new start in life by taking care of pit bulls or horses. Animals can help them become better humans. As well as helping them learn love and…

“This is horrible! I can’t even watch this!” Those were my immediate thoughts the first time my eyes were opened to the inhumane animal cruelty on factory farms. Factory farming enables mass production to supply the demands of today’s society but also enables the cruel treatment of animals. We need to end the cruelty and abuse that these animals have to endure at the factory farms because it causes loss to the business, reduces the quality of the product produced, and endangers the health of those who buy the product. We can promote humane treatment of factory farm animals by prevention through education, by enforcing humane laws by being an example of humane animal treatment, and by donating and/or volunteering at local humane law enforcement agencies.…

I would personally like to thank Jeremy Rifkin for his earth-shaking findings published in “A Change of Heart about Animals”. Without Rifkin’s article, I never would have realized that animals can experience pain, suffering, and affection (2). The global community is truly indebted to Rifkin for proving, for the first time ever, that animals are actually living, breathing creatures—a truly groundbreaking scientific achievement, no doubt. The truth is: Rifkin has proven nothing new and merely demonstrated the barefaced hypocrisy of the animal rights movement.…

In today’s society there is a fine line about what is considered cruel and what is not. Hunters do not believe what they do as cruelty to animals, whereas a non-hunter would say it is indeed cruelty. There is not one form of animal cruelty that is considered worse than another. All forms of animal cruelty needs to be addressed. This organization can help everyone to understand what is considered animal cruelty and what is not. ASPCA can help individuals in a professional setting to spread the word about animal cruelty and the steps that companies or individuals can do to participate in fighting for animal rights. Giving a company and their employees the opportunity to participate in an organization as important as the prevention of animal cruelty can, and will help the company grow as well as helping the…
