Last summer, the new app Pokemon Go took the world by storm. Pokemon Go is an augmented reality game which requires people to go outside and walk around. This has greatly encouraged Pokemon fans to get outside, explore the world, and catch ‘em all. Pokemon Go also encourages players to become more aware of their surroundings, or be a cheater like me and play while my parents are driving. People seem to have different perspectives on video gaming. Some may say that its bad for you and others may disagree. Steven Johnson, the author of Everything Bad is Good for You, believes that video gaming comes with many benefits. Unlike reading books, video games actually help you trigger your mind and make you analyze situations, he admits. He also claims that when reading a small portion of your brain is devoted and when it comes to video games you trigger most of your senses. Children are encouraged to spend at least 60 minutes out of a 24 hour day outside and video gaming is an addiction. One might say it's not until a parent sees that a child would rather sit inside and play video games all day than go outside and be active. Therefore, obesity and health problems are more likely to occur. This takes away from a child's physical ability by not playing outdoors, and giving them a nasty habit and calling it a "stress reliever".…
