I have been going to Scout meetings every Tuesday for the almost 6 years. Over the time I learned how to take basic care in first aid and how to save people's lives from drowning or choking. I have gone to specific camps to help me become a better leader specifically NYLT or National Youth Leadership Training. I have gotten dozens of different merit badges ranging from outdoor activities like Shotgun Shooting to character elements like Public Speaking. The most important merit badge that I have earned was Citizenship in the Community because I learned that it is important to give back to your community and take part in what goes on. This was because at each of our meetings we repeat the Scout Oath and Laws. These thing are very important to me because they talk about what a Scout should do in different aspects of your life. The Scout Laws would be an example of what characteristics you should be by stating “ A Scout is Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean, and Reverent.” I think that these characteristics are very important because they are basic principles that should be followed throughout your life.
