The question of “Are the federalist papers still relevant?” is a very important question.
It is especially important the current state of affairs in this country over the last 20 plus years.
Throughout history also in other nations the arguments of the Federalist Papers ring true and human nature seems to reinforce them.
One quote from the Federalist No.10 paper that I feel is more relevant now than ever especially for someone on the left is “It is in vain to say that enlightened statesmen will be able to adjust these clashing interests and render them all subservient to the public good.

The Job of the Judicial branch is generally to be a referee between the
Executive and legislative branches. The Executive recommends people for positons as judges but the congress votes them in, and this is how there is a relative protection from favoritism in that only impartial judges will be nominated and voted into power. This is because both parties know that if they abuse the system while in the majority that the favor will be returned down the line.
Madison goes on to speak of the flaws of man and the necessary needs of any government to keep from becoming abusive. He writes “The interest of the man must be connected with the constitutional rights of the place. It may be a reflection on human nature, that such devices should be necessary to control the abuses of government.”(Madison, 1788,
p.2). His point is that in order to prevent any one part of government from becoming too powerful and tyrannical, the others must have similar ambitions to keep the powers they have and to prevent the other branches from growing power.
