Why Lord Capulet Played a Major Role in Romeo and Juliet
“From forth fatal loins of these two foes a pair of star-crossed lovers take their life; Whose misadventured piteous overthrows.” Romeo and Juliet, a play written by William Shakespeare, is a story about teenage love and sacrifices. Romeo and Juliet first lay eyes on each other at the Capluet’s party where Romeo sneaked in and, it was love at first sight. Although their families have been feuding for quite sometime, they decide to go ahead with their marriage the next day. The story Romeo and Juliet would be much different if Lord Capulet did not exist since he is one of the main reasons the Romeo and Juliet met, and fell in love. Without Lord Capulet existing in the story, Tybalt would have never killed Romeo with no regrets. “This, by his voice should be a Montague. Fetch me my rapier, boy. What! Dares the slave come hither. Covered with an aritic face, to fleer and scorn at our solemnity? Now, by the stock and honor of my kin, To strike him dead I hold it not a sin.” Said Tybalt. If Capulet didn st in the story, then Tybalt, the aggressive Capulet wouldn’t have asked anyone for permission to kill Romeo when he saw him at the party. Instead, he told Capulet that a Montague was at the party, and that he was going to kill Romeo, but Capulet told him “Content thee, gentle coz, let him alone. ‘ A bears him like a portly gentleman, and, to say truth, Verona brags of him to be a virtuous and well goverened youth.’ “ If Lord Capulet didn’t exist, he wouldn’t be there to scold Tybalt. Also, Tybalt would go ahead and kill Romeo before Juliet ever met him, which would make the story a lot different.

If Lord Capulet wasn’t in the story, Juliet would have never been forced to marry Paris. “How, how, how, how chopped logic? What is this? “Proud”? Mistress, minion you, thank me no thankings, nor proud me no prouds, but fettle your fine joints against Thursday next to go with Paris to Saint Peter’s Church or I will drag thee on a hurdle thither. Out, you green sickness

lord capulet is the person responsible for romeo and juliet's deaths. One reason lord capulet is to blame is because he had a feud with lord montague “see, what a scourge is laid upon your hate”(5.3.291). The feud that lord capulet has with the montague is to blame because if there were no feud, Romeo and Juliet would not have had to go behind their parents backs and get married without permission.then lord capulet would not have tried to force Juliet to marry county paris. This brings me to my second point:Lord capulet forced juliet to marry paris when she really didn't want to; “I tell thee what. get thee to church o’ thursday or never after look me in the face again speak not reply not never answer me”(3.5.161-263).If lord capulet had…

First ,Tybalt, the fiery hot head, has had a tremendous influence on the plays dramatic feel with his short tempered personality and reckless behavior it's no wonder that Tybalt sets off most of the tragic events that occur in the story. Tybalt states "...I will withdraw but that intrusion shall, now seeming sweet, convert to bitter gal" (1015). After Capulet warned Tybalt to not cause any trouble at his party Tybalt, vexed with Capulet for not being as furious as he was about Romeo being at their…

If it had not been for Tybalt’s short temper he would not have died nor would Romeo be exiled. Romeo had told Tybalt he would not fight him yet Tybalt engages a fight with Romeos friend “[Romeo] art a villain…therefore turn and draw” Romeo tries to reason with him but there is no hope, and when Tybalt ends up killing Romeos closest friend, Benvolio Romeo loses it and kills Tybalt (Shakespeare 3.1.59-65). If Romeo had not killed Tybalt he would not be exiled for his irrational actions and would not have caused stress on both the Montague and Capulet family. Now Even though Tybalt lost his temper and killed Romeos friend does not make him liable for Romeo and Juliet’s death but in reality it really does. When Tybalt had killed Benvolio and then had been killed by Romeo himself, Romeo had been exiled from Verona; this news got carried away to Juliet who then faked her own death and mislead Romeo to thinking that she had actually died. Since Romeo cannot bare the thought of Juliet dead he decides to commit suicide himself. If it had not been for Tybalt Romeos exile would not have had happen and nobody would have ended up…

    Romeo And Juliet Blame

    • 5 Pages

People may think that Tybalt is to blame because he got into a fight with Romeo ultimately causing Romeo to be banished. Tybalt did actively and willingly go to battle with Romeo in the streets. He also did kill Mercutio and caused Romeo to seek revenge for his friend. However, Tybalt attacked Romeo because he was raised to hate the Montagues. All that Tybalt knew was his family's hatred for the Montagues. Due to this, Tybalt got into a fight with Romeo, causing Romeo to get banished, and ultimately causing Romeo and Juliet to kill themselves in the end. In the play when Romeo comes to the Capulets's party, Tybalt says, "This, by his voice, should be a Montague." Quoted from pg. 1014. Tybalt said this because he gets angered that Romeo has snuck into the party unannounced. This causes Tybalt to grow even more of a hatred to Romeo specifically. Due to Romeo coming to the party without being invited and just for being a Montague, Tybalt's instincts tell him to fight Romeo. Were it not for the family feud, Tybalt would have little to no reason to hate Romeo, causing him to do battle with Romeo, ultimately causing Romeo and Juliet's deaths. Tybalt is not a major factor into the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. His hatred for Romeo and the Montagues was taught and grown into him, and due to the secrecy of Romeo, he felt offended by the uninvited Romeo to the Capulet…

Romeo slays Tybalt, after he is enraged about Tybalt killing Mercutio. “Either thou or I, or both, must go with him…This shall determine that [They fight], [Tybalt falls],” (Shakespeare, 123-124). The after effect of him murdering Tybalt is he ends up getting banished from Verona. Distance from Juliet will prove to be great, when Friar Lawrence needs to send a letter to him. “For I excile hath more terror in his look, much more than death. Do not say “banishment,” Romeo exclaims (Shakespeare, 141). Romeo always runs head first at his problems without thinking about the consequences. If Romeo didn’t get himself banished, then Romeo and Juliet could have still continued with their secret relationship. Lord Capulet wouldn’t have seen Juliet sorrowful and proposed the conception of marriage with Paris and Juliet. Juliet then wouldn’t have needed a plan to escape the marriage with Paris because it would have never even happened in the first place! As soon as Romeo’s frenzied sword burrows into Tybalt’s chest, he sealed his and Juliet’s fate. Even though Romeo massacres Tybalt, that wasn’t even all of why he was to blame for the extraordinary…
