Why Should Animal Testing Be Necessary?
Animal experiments are always a controversial topic because of the moral issue. Most of the people who are disagreeing animal testing is because they believed that animal can feel pain like humans do. Animal testing in the United States is accessory to the federal Animal Welfare Act (AWA) [1], passed in 1966 and amended in 1970 and 1976. In a recent article, Parliament [2] said that animal research is the use of non-anthropoid animals in experiment that’s explore to control the variables that affect the behavior or biological system under study. This essay will examine the arguments for and against whether animal testing is necessary.
Animal testing may help human science make greater progress, so that human beings have the ability to save move people lives in the future. Some animal experiments are aimed to save animals' lives. Animals would get sick as humans do, and human would like to save animals' lives as well, so we invented vaccines to save their lives. In that case, scientists have to do the animal testing to ensure that the vaccines can cure millions of sick animals but not killing them. If scientists did not test on animals, countless animals' lives would have taken by distemper, tetanus and parvovirus [6]. Some animal species avoid the extinction by the testing on animals. For example, the black-footed ferret, the tamarins of Brazil and the California condor [7].
