Why Should Animal Testing Be Legalized?
Animal Testing: Should It Be Legalized? Should scientists examine their harmful substances on animals? Approximately two to five million animals have been used under testing (''Animal Aid,'' n.d). Animal testing has increased worldwide, scientists believe that animals are the best sacrifice for these specific type of tests which include a wide range of chemicals, which include vaccines and drugs because they believe that animals are the only species that proper things to be examined on and usually will not feel anything even if they got sick after being testing on, and which will lead to poisoning animals and eventually harming them. Excess killing of animals can cause extinction of its own kind. People around the world find that animal testing is much better and safer, in contrast a major amount of people are not happy with what is happening to the pets if the experiments are not safe and the creatures are getting hurt. The first major reason why animals should not be tested on is because around 100 feeling animals are sentenced to stay in a laboratory enclosure causing them …show more content…
Studies at the Drug and Food administration (''Top five reasons to stop animal testing'' PETA). Showed that ninety three out of every one hundred drugs that are being tested on animals fail when it comes to humans, this means that it is not necessary if it worked on animals that it will also on humans. This can increase the risk of death on both animals and humans. Humans will eventually think if it worked on animals it will also work on them but it can turn out awfully wrong and can cause risks such as cancer and different diseases. Also, humans have different body types and conditions which means it can work on some and not necessarily work on some other humans (''Accueil, Animal aid," n.d). Experimenting on animals should be illegal because not all tests will work on

Do you want to see animals abused and killed sometimes for nothing? Animal testing is flawed and can produce very unreliable results. Around 26 million animals are used every year for scientific and commercial testing. These animals are used to determine the toxicity and effectiveness of medications before they test it on humans. Therefore animal testing should be banned.…

The first reason why we shouldn’t have animal testing is because animals are getting hurt or abused. “Over 100 million animals are burned, crippled, poisoned, and abused in US labs every year.” The chemicals that the people are using are burning or other worse things to them. The chemicals that they use on the animals could hurt or kill them. Over half of side effects cannot be detected in…

When it comes to the topic of animal testing, most of us will readily agree that it is a debatable topic. Where this argument usually ends, however, is on the conversation if animal testing is necessary. Whereas some are convinced that using animals for testing has contributed to many lifesaving cures and treatments, others maintain that these animals are very different from humans and, therefore, make poor test subjects. My own view is these animals have produced many treatments, but not outcomes that are effective enough in the human body, therefore should not be using animals.…

“Examples of medications that have been the result of animal testing are Penicillin, several asthma treatments, cancer and HIV drugs, vaccines, antibiotics, and insulin (Occupy Theory, 1).” Since there can be new medications found from utilising this form of testing, many people see it as beneficial to the human population. Since it’s more beneficial to humans than it is a bigger hurt to the animal species, most people believe that animal testing is okay. But, according to William H. Farland and Vicki Vaughn-Dellarco, “Abelson comments that laboratory studies of chemicals and their use in risk assessment have not been shown to have substantially benefited human health (1908).” I had interviewed my AP Biology teacher Mr. Nolan Flores. He teaches regents biology, AP biology, and astronomy. Mr. Flores even teaches animal behaviors in biology so he has a basic knowledge of animals. When I had interviewed Mr. Flores he had talked about his personal view on animal testing. He concurred with the prior statement that if it is more beneficial to test on an animal because it could save someone's life, then he is for animal testing. For him, he also stated that it depends on the situation and if the testing is ethical or not. If it involves cruel or unusual punishment to the animal, then he is against…

An estimated 26 million animals are used every year in the United States fir various types of testing. These animals are used for scientific and commercial testing to develop medical treatments, determine toxicity of medications and chemicals, check the safety of products destined for human use and other biomedical or healthcare purposes. This testing on animals is cruel, inhumane and should be banned. It should be banned because the animals are held and live in inhumane conditions, it is harmful and at times lethal to the animals and there are other research method available that do not require animal testing.…

    Animal Testing Ethics

Animals are usually confined to small cages and being exposed to harmful fumes for human benefit. In their “Animal” Journal, Elisabeth H. Ormandy and Catherine Schuppli claim that "the use of animals in research fosters a diverse range of attitudes, with some people expressing the desire for complete abolition of animal research practices, while others express strong support (392)." Animal testing has stirred up an argument between two opposing sides regarding the ethics of the practice. The two opposing sides are those who disagree with animal testing and those who agree with animal testing. Nuno Henrique Franco author of "Animal Experiments in Biomedical Research: A Historical Perspective" state that "Animal experimentation has played a central role in biomedical research throughout history. For centuries, however, it has also been an issue of heated public and philosophical discussion."(238) Those who are in favor of animal testing believe that it is beneficial to improving medicine. Those who are against animal testing believe that it is harmful to animals and that their are other ways to benefit humans. Being an animal lover, I oppose of animal testing for several different reasons. The first reason being animals are being subjected to all forms of suffering and isolation. The second reason is animals are not…

Animals are used as human experiments to see if a certain product can work or not. Animal testing is wrong on many different levels. It is common knowledge that many animals are used in medical and scientific research. These innocent animals are often obliged to undergo countless of cruel processes and endure great suffering as a result. Animals should NOT be used for testing in labs. There are many reasons why this dilemma should stop. They have different bodies than humans so the tests may react different on them than on humans and that could lead to danger to people. I think if scientists have to lab test on something living then they should pick something overpopulated, but that still is not okay, therefore something needs to be figured out. Or instead of using helpless animals, they should use all natural products and take human volunteers willing to get tested on. Why risk poor helpless little animal’s lives? Why torture them? It is proven that animals are not the best test subjects to use.…

Animal testing has always been a dispute between people; some people think it’s morally wrong and some people think it helps with medical and scientific breakthroughs. Drugs that people use or cosmetics that are used could have been tested through animals before being stocked on shelves. About 800 animals are tested on before a drug is passed to clinical trials (“Is animal”). Many animals get tested on, but many like mice, rabbits, hamsters, monkeys, dogs, cats, pigs, and some other animals get tested on. Animals can be used to find new advances in medical treatment and check safety for products, but these animals that get tested on can go through pain and death. Animal testing is wrong and should be stopped because…

Millions of dogs, cats, bunnies, rodents, and so many more other animals are being used for animal testing. These animals are forced to be in labs and are locked up in cages until they die of the drugs that are inserted inside their bodies. Once the researchers say the drugs are safe humans are taking a risk to be severely ill, hospitalize, or even die. Animal testing for medicine is harmful to both humans and animals because the side effects that occur in the animals are different for humans and the drugs that work on animals fail for humans.…

Animal testing often involves force feeding, restraints, and other such necessary tools to keep the experiments controlled. To add to the fact, the majority of animals are put to sleep after their trial is done. Many tests will need the test subject to be deprived of sleep, food, and water in order to see clear results. In spite of this madness, there are also laws in place to ensure that the animals are being in as safe of an environment as they can be. However, not all laws are just. The laws in place are not as strict as one would believe due to the fact that scientists would need the test subjects in certain conditions in order to complete the test properly.…
