I believe that schools should have anti-bullying programs because 3.2 million students are victims of bullying each year. Some students don’t know how to stop bullying because teachers and parents haven’t addressed what to do if they are being bullied. Students in all different grades think that the best thing to do is to tell a teacher. But study shows that teachers will only intervene 4% of the time. If teachers will only intervene 4% of the time, now students are forced to handle bullying and try to stop bullying by themselves. Students in the grades 4th-8th admit that they are victims of bullying. Some students have no given clue what to do if they are being bullied. Since teachers will only intervene to stop bullying 4% of the time I believe that schools should have anti-bullying programs.
I believe that there should be anti-bullying programs in school because it will cut down on student absences, improves dropout, and students will learn how to prevent bullying in and outside of schools. Every single teacher working at a elementary school, middle school, or high school should all get together at a big meeting to discuss why schools should have anti-bullying programs by researching bullying and finding statistics. If all the teachers agree to have anti-bullying programs in schools bullying will slowly stop.
