Why the Sea Is Salty
11/06/2013 Why the sea is salty
Long ago in a small town called Bondi there lived a poor family. There were three people in this family, the Dads name was Refundo the mums name was Spamdora and the little baby’s name was Dandiduff. Although they were poor they did a lot of good deeds for people so their own God Potterus gave them a magic pot.
The magic pot gave the, whatever they wanted but if they wished for a massive waterfall or something like that it would only stop with their command. Their rich neighbours saw the magic pot by the window one day. That night when the family went out for a bush walk the neighbours decided to steal the magic pot. So the poor family didn’t suspect it was them they set out for the lighthouse across the sea. When the family got back they decided to make some dinner when Spamdora went to the window she saw the pot was gone and she said the pot is gone so refund and Spamdora decided to look for it after about 2 hours of looking they decided to give up. Magically Dandiduff said neighbours and Spamdora said “THE NEIGHBOURS STOLE IT” so they both went outside and over to their house they knocked on the door and no one answered so they went back home and decided it wasn’t worth it. For some odd reason the rich neighbours only grabbed the magic pot to have salt. When they said provide salt it started pouring out with salt and then they said stop and it didn’t work and then they panicked. So they went in a boat and went into the middle of the sea and chucked the magic pot into the sea then sailed back home and they never got found by the poor neighbours.
To this day the pot is still pumping out salt and this is why the sea is salty.
The moral or this story is don’t take what isn’t yours unless you have asked first.

Only 27 percent of the sodium actually gets back out of the sea each year. As far as any scientific research shows, the remaining sodium accumulates in the ocean. Assuming that the ocean started with a very minimal, if any, amount of sodium deposits in the oceans, at today’s input and output rates, it would have taken less than 42 million years to accumulate its present amount. If we were to look at the evolutionary timeline of the oceans, which is only around three million years to start with, far less than 42 million years it would have taken to deposit the current amount of sodium into the sea; the usual reply to this discrepancy is that past sodium inputs were much less than the outputs back out of the ocean. Calculations, even though they are as generous as the evolutionary theory will allow, still only give a maximum age of 62 millions years. So hypothetically speaking, even if the current sodium amounts in the ocean were deposited within 62 million years, that is far less than 4.5 billion years. During the evolution of the earth, what happened to the sodium content the other millions, possibly billions, of years? Were there no oceans in the beginning of…
