Dress Codes in High Schools High schools, restaurants, workplaces, and the military all have a specific dress code for specific reasons. While some people agree that these places should have a dress code, some disagree. Schools should enforce school uniforms because students may feel more comfortable in a dress code, dress codes help students focus more on academics, and dress codes provide safety and a decrease in violence within a school. School uniforms will help students feel more comfortable within the school around their peers. By wearing the same clothes as the kids you are sitting by in class and walking by in the hallways students will not be judged on what they are wearing because everyone is wearing the same thing. By having a school uniform, teachers and administration do not have to take time out of class to enforce the dress code and. School dress codes will force students to treat each other more as equals because students do not have on name brand clothing or clothes that are cheap which will not cause distractions in class. School dress codes will force kids to dress properly which will not take time out of class and kids will not be distracted by revealing or inappropriate clothing. By wearing school uniforms, students will not be focused on brand names, slogans on clothing, or revealing clothing. School uniforms will also provide safety in schools. Schools around the world often make it a rule that students belts lines must be showing making it harder for them to hide weapons in the school. When guns are confiscated or not brought to school, kids will feel safer, and once again be able to concentrate better in class. By wearing school uniforms, students are prevented from wearing gang-related clothing. Students wearing the same clothing will result in fewer fights between students, making the school a safer
