“Working at McDonald’s” presented a vary interesting argument. In this writing, working a part-time job while in high school was highly criticized. It talked about how the skills needed in part-time jobs have changed drastically over the years as well as the jobs themselves. Etzioni even goes as far to say “These are breeding grounds for robots working for yesterday’s assembly lines, not tomorrow’s high-tech posts.” He even includes a rather intriguing study that found that “students who worked at least 25 hours per week while in school, their unemployment rate four years later was half of the seniors who did work.” It was stated that those who start off in these chain jobs, such as fast food restaurants, often get “gobbled up” in the world of low-class jobs. A final point made in the essay was that students often use their money in frivolous ways to gain a high status. In order to maintain this ranking, they chose work over school so they can afford their life style; eventually the student drops out completely. With out having an education, the student will never be able to gain a full-time, well paying job. This all because they held a part-time job in high school.…

However, most students have to work for their personal expenses, including gas money to go to school, which is an expensive need nowadays. Even if the student is a part-time worker he will undoubtedly have a negative impact on his grades. Some students have late night jobs, notwithstanding their morning classes. As a consequence, the tired student won't learn as much as he could. Yet, many undergraduates would more than likely have to work still. It could be for some other reasons like family or personal needs, excluding gas money; but if it's provided, it will definitely help a lot. Hence, students will have enough money for their needs, more time to study, they will not have to work harder nor stress over it.…

The article “Teenagers’ Work Can Have Downsides” by Jerald G. Bachman explains why teenage student should or should not work while in school. According to the article, students who work for long hours and attend school too have poor academic performance. Also when teen work for long hours their behavior starts to become worse and they start to consume drugs such as smoking cigarettes and other drugs. On the other hand the article also talks about teenagers going to work for a few hours per week and attend school at the same time, and those who work for short amount of hours are better off than the tennagers that attend school and don’t work. In my opinion I would say teenagers should work for a short amount of hours because if they work for a lot of hours per week than they wouldn’t be able to do their homework due to the fact that they don’t have time.…

Not many are lucky to have paid all their debt by the time they graduate. Colleges and universities have given students the ability to work around the campus in order to pay for their education. Although this seems like a positive effect to help students pay and try to minimize debt, work is bound to get in the way of education. As students worry about having money in their pockets and scavenge any type of job they can find in or around the campus, they put aside their studies and their capability to perform in class is diminished. In his article, Hoover is able to capture a statement made by Ashley Dawson, an English professor at the College of Staten Island, regarding how work affects students ability to work in class and colleges maintaining…

Many people assume that teens just stay up too late on social media, but some teens have clubs they attend to or sports, then go to jobs that where they work for hours then come home, complete homework all around 1-2 AM. Doing this day after day puts stress on students. Is it any wonder then why students find themselves having breakdowns trying to manage their school life? They are pressed to find time in the morning to find motivation to go to school so early and have to do it day after…

A student loan is a loan taken out by a college student to help pay for tuition, fees, etc. The average 2016 college graduate in the United States had a student debt of $37, 172 with up to $300 monthly payments to pay off this debt (studentloanhero). For example, the average college student is in college from September to May, which is a nine month period with an average cost of $25,000. If you take a working college student who is working at an average of $8 an hour for 30 hours a week and is being paid biweekly, that student is bringing in around $500 every two weeks which is around $1,000 a month.
