On April 1, 2003, the idea was made to make the memorial were the WTC was at and The construction for that did not start until March 13, 2006, because of the damage that was done and had to be cleaned up before it could start. The Memorial plaza Waterfall had the people that were killed on 9/11 inscribed on the outside layer of the Plaza. The first time when the Memorial plaza waterfall lights were illuminated was on August 15, 2011, and on September 11, 2011, had marked the 10th year of the 9/11 attacks and people like President Obama, Mayor Bloomberg, President Bush Larry Silverstein and Port Authority officials had gathered to go the National September 11 Memorial and Museum. This shows how much 9/11 had such an impact on the world.
The World Trade Center is history even before and after the devastating day of 9/11. The Twin Towers were one of the tallest buildings in the world and this was a good destination for all tourist to see. But when they were hit and destroyed, it had made history by showcasing the damage that terrorism and Al-Qaeda could do to innocent American people. Just by that first plane hitting the North tower, it had struck the world.
