Xlri Interview
XLRI(HR)Batch of 2013-2015: the xlri interview I cam across , this guy really worked hard , here is his interview:

How I went about the interview preparation.

7 April 2013

At the outset,I am going to warn you that this post is going to be long and tedious.I am writing this piece not for my personal satisfaction, but for thousands of aspirants who are mediocre like me;who ruined their high school/graduation academics, and did not achieve anything significant in last 20 odd years of existence.I just want to tell you,all of you,who are reading this post is that YOU CAN MAKE IT if you are mad enough to burn yourself. I owe my success to many(MMDT-12 members: Sid,Rishi,Om,Harshil;Patrick Sir,Kamath Sir),and it is my obligation to do my bit for others.

@Omkarp ,@retry ,@rishi1415 ,@sid2222000 ,@PatrickDsouza

These are the people who made it possible for me.Their names should be here as well.

Hope,it helps...Giving back to PG.

A brief introduction about myself-

Name-Akshay Gupta
10th-79.6% (CBSE)
12th-67.6% (CBSE)
Graduation(SRM University,Chennai)--CGPA of 8.911 out of 10(Worked very hard in college;Hit gold here)-ECE Engineering.

I have no extracurricular activities to justify my High school debacle. It took me 2.5-3 years of extreme efforts to crack XAT entrance test(98.83%)—I will write a post later on how a person with 0 aptitude and no foundation cracked the toughest MBA entrance exam on earth. It's a myth that one can't learn aptitude.Infact, one can learn any Goddamn thing on this earth if one is motivated enough, and willing to go under fire. Now words come cheap,so let's have some statistics- XAT 2011-44.22%

XAT 2013-98.83%

Once I reached this far ,I promised myself that I will force them to think 100 times before they reject me in an interview.
XLRI interview shortlist came on 17 Jan 2013.I was in Goa;I heard myself getting shortlisted for both interviews(BM and HRM).I left my friends, and came

Jones noted that while at the FMA he was promoted to CEO of the association and he worked in that leadership role for several years. The most significant change came when the FMA decided to offer allied health professionals membership per the voting results from the current physician members which created some animosity within the organization. The votes were very narrow in margin which left some members alienated since they wanted to keep the association more focused on physicians only. Mr. Jones decided that the best way to address the membership was to inform them on how the decision will assist their practice as a whole by inviting their own staff to be a part of the continuing medical education process. Apparently it worked as according to him there were no reports of a mass exodus of physicians leaving FMA and membership grew stronger with the change implemented. The previous results…

Shortly after working at Adam’s Camp, Farrelly worked in a nursing home called Arbors of Bedford. From here, she worked with the elderly population from the ages of 60 and up. Surely, this was not her ideal job, although, she noticed how this occupation provided the same self-reward as Adam’s Camp. At Arbors or Bedford, she assisted residents with daily living such as bathing, getting dressed, and other activities. More importantly, what she found fascinating was the resident’s stories about their childhood or memories.…

This third of the prison population that was placed in solitary confinement, one day may be released into society and asked to be socialized, when they were never rehabilitated, but rather segregated. The correctional facility is furthering the damage to inmate’s that are already psychologically unstable and furthering dissocializing these inmates, then releasing them. We would not even put animals in a situation where they would be isolated from others, because we understand the importance of socializing, but we do it to inmates and define it as humane and are confused why recidivism is so high. Solitary confinement without rehabilitation will lead to more issues, rather than solutions. Caging what society defines as animals, then isolating…

I was so focused on the academic aspects of school my freshman and sophomore years’ that i wasn’t active in any of my school’s clubs or activities. I finally decided to get more involved my junior year and I joined nearly every club, participated in every activity, and even went to as many sports events as I could have. I currently am a six year member of the National Beta Club and have held the positions of Vice President of Fundraising and Senior Representative throughout my high school career. Not only am I a leader in the Beta Club, but I participate in the Trailblazer leadership program with the Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance and my school’s freshman mentor program. I also joined the TRIO Upward Bound program whose ACT prep helped me to obtain a 22 as my highest ACT score at the time allowing me acceptance into my school’s ACT top 20 Club. Although it was hard with my many extracurricular activities I somehow still managed to finish my junior year with a 3.8…

All of the tips and strategies a student will learn help create the basis for every step and choice in their lives. Creating this skillful individual takes time and effort and will only be accomplished with the strength and determination to do so. In the duration of Education 1300 I have come to really understand things more clearly and gather the skills I need to be a great peak performer. What I really hope to take of this class is the strengths and friendships I have gathered and put them to my everyday life. This class has been one of the most helpful tools in my life; I have learned so many great tips for example: the many lessons taught on relationships and how to handle conflict, I have always been awful at telling others how I feel in a clear and calm way. As a peak performer I am happy to say I have the strength and determination to keep myself moving and to gather a better understanding of the problems in my life. A Peak Performer’s life is not easy but it is manageable and I am determined to make it a good…

Success is a process of changeling obstacles. In order to succeed you must overcome these obstacles. Motivation is the driving force behind success, it is the entity that makes people do things they don’t want to. Studying is key to success, there is a high correlation between studying and success. Serval studying skills such as pre-test taking and taking clearer notes can put you on course with your goals. I’ve learned that success is not something defined by others it depend only on you and your goals. This is important because success should only rely on yourself and not others. This year I plan on tackling success by means of motivating myself and studying a lot. I intend to complete the goals I set and succeed in my…

As a college student still fresh from high school, I recognize how easily we younger individuals can be led to think that we are solitary in our efforts to climb up the educational ladder. Just two years ago, I thought I wanted to be a professional writer. I even took advanced placement courses in English literature, language and composition in my high school junior and senior year; then I became acquainted with personal computers and became engrossed with the technology behind them. Adding to the flaws of the young, I suppose you could also say that we are too ambiguous. Nevertheless, the fact remains that I selfishly never thought of my fellow classmates, who were undoubtedly in similar situations, as people I could confide in academically. Not even once. Now, if nothing else, my high school recollections provide me with some insight into the problems with the current educational system.…
