Anwar Sadat, he was a part of a lot of political situations and in all such a short time of presidency. Anwar Sadat grew up hating British, and has been in jail because of his actions against them. Anwar, despite him being thrown in jail, he ended up becoming the President of Egypt. How he came to his presidency all starts when and where he was born. Anwar Sadat was born on December 25th, 1918 in Mit Abul Kom, which is about 40 miles north of Cairo in the Nile Delta. Anwar Sadat was one of thirteen in his family, and he grew up in a poor village. Despite his father’s government wages, he was admitted to a Military Academy. While growing up, four figures affected Sadat 's early life. The first, a man named Zahran, came from a small village like Sadat 's. In a famous incident of colonial rule, the British hanged Zahran for participating in a riot, which had resulted in the death of a British officer, which Sadat admired. The second, Kemel Ataturk, created the modern state of Turkey by forcing the downfall of the Ottoman Empire and he established a number of civil service reforms, which Sadat admired. The third man was Mohandas Gandhi. Touring Egypt in 1932, Gandhi had preached the power of nonviolence in combating injustice. And finally, the young Sadat admired Adolf Hitler because he was a potential rival to British control. As these four men did affect Anwar Sadat at an early age, so did his schooling. While living with his grandmother, Anwar went to a village Quran (Muslim) school then briefly to a Coptic (Christian) school. Then his parents returned from Sudan and Anwar went to a government school and moved to Cario. He did poorly in school and his grades were always low. This caused Sadat to have to switch from the government that he was currently in to a private secondary school on two occasions.
