The three pillars:
-PRODUCT WITH ITS POINT OF SALE (WEB)
-BUYER
-SELLER
Fourth pillar in the near future: we!
WEB DESIGN
Before starting: organize and think about the architecture information and define web site structure!
ARCHITECTURE INFORMATION: is the art and science of organizing and labeling web sites, intranets, online communities and software to support findability and usability, in other words defining web site structure. Home page (index page), main sections (site index) and subsections (content). Every single page should be drawn. It comes before designing and programming and is essential to enable our users to find what they are looking for.
There are web design basics to communicate quickly and efficiently. It has to be usable, visual, functional, etc. But the center of all these is always a USER.
Anatomy of a webpage:
1. page title
2. URL web address
3. header (can be a headline…)
4. navigation
5. page content or body
6. footer
Key elements on your E-Commerce:
1. Headline - first thing the users see, the most important keywords (SEO friendly), the user should know what to expect
2. Navigation - categories and subcategories, in logically relevant groups (IKEA: living room, bathroom, kitchen…), include breadcrumps (hilo de ariadna) to know the way, to know where you are and allows you to jump to higher level categories (home-women-dresses)
3. Product catalogue - visible from the first moment, images are much more memorable than text, so should include them (large image space, zoom, offer offline experiences, make your default image your most relevant image, group products (you look for a t-shirt and can see it with jeans in a real guy))
4. Shopping bag
5. Search engine - able to filter products by different criteria
6. Registration should be very easy and short
7. Contact, FAQs, terms &
