I have not always wanted to be a pharmacy tech, I changed my major at least 4 times already. My college years started and stopped a few times since I graduated from high school. I left college the first time and joined the Marine Corps. I served in the Marine Corps for eight (8) years as a Communications Operator. The problem for me there was that I did not want to pursue a career in communications. While I was serving I took some college level course and that is where I went through two of my four college major changes. Some might see that as indecisive, I saw it as trying to find the right fit for me. I have since gotten out of the military and went back to school, since I have begun this new path in my education I have also changed my major twice. I went back to school…

Our job is basically related to a job description, but while that tells us what we need to do, it does not usually tell us how we need to do it. To find that out, we need to look at the Standards that apply to own work. Standards, as with Codes of Practice, will vary depending on the UK country in which we work. Each UK country has National Minimum Standards that are used by inspectors to ensure that services are being delivered at an acceptable level. Finally, and most importantly in terms of how we carry out our work, there are the National Occupational Standards (NOS). These apply across the whole UK, and explain what we need to know and be able to do in order to work effectively in social care. It is important to understand that competence is not only about doing the job; it is also about understanding why we do what we do and the theoretical basis that support the work.…

Started in the 1900 prescriptions were invented, this was the start where people were able to go to their doctors, and the doctors would prescribe the right drug needed for the patient's condition. The prescription system is great because, it helps patients take the right medicine, and they are able to find out the condition of the patient (Robert 1). Many individuals are completely unaware of the variety of job opportunities that a pharmacist has. Unfortunately, pharmacists are sometimes seen as “peel and stick” workers, and do not get enough credit for the tasks that they complete behind the scenes. Whether a health-system pharmacist, community pharmacist, federal pharmacist, or pharmacy director they all play an imperative role in the health of a patient. There are a many opportunities for a 21st century pharmacist in the health care system. And, in my opinion, these opportunities are only going to grow more and more in the next few years.…
