Pharmacy technician programs in schools to train technicians for their role, there is higher education from certification to Associates and higher degrees in the field.
III. Differences in roles in the Technician field. A. Community setting. 1. Working closely with the patients. 2. Dispensing medications 3. Imputing prescriptions B. Hospital setting. 1. Less patient interaction, more in the clinic 2. Higher responsibilities with dispensing and setting up medical carts 3. Certification and extra training 4. Pay rate is higher for higher amount of work C. More schools and universities offering education for Pharmacist Technicians as the role expands in its need.
