UofT Engineering Essay
Originally, I thought that the reason that I wanted to pursue an engineering degree is because of my family. However, I was wrong. Although for two generations, my family members all graduated from different engineering programs in my home country, it was still my own choice to apply to the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering at the University of Toronto. From my childhood, I was told that my father graduated from the electrical engineering program at the best university in China. So did my mother and grandfather. I was given a heavy burden from then, and once I thought I was going to step onto the exactly same path as my family did until I stepped on the land of Canada for the first time. For the past three years I have changed a lot. I guess it is not only because of the better education system of Ontario, but also because that my field of vision has been widened. I chose the University of Toronto simply because I am interested in Engineering Science, and because the engineering programs in the University of Toronto are definitely the best choices among all. I realize that I am most interested in the biomedical engineering program in Engineering Science program, and I really hope that I can further improve my knowledge and vision there.
Throughout my life in Canada, the most inspiring and meaningful moments are always from my memories of the extra-curricular experiences. I have joined the Newcomer Youth Leadership Development program at the YMCA last year, and I will not forget all the interesting events and the friendly people there. For example, I have learned how to communicate and co-operate with my teammates, how to talk in public, how to manage my time wisely,
