In this study, the quantitative data which was obtained through questionnaire which is used analyzed using descriptive statistics of central tendency measurements and percentages. The data was first coded, organized and discussed using mean, mode, frequency and median. The median will be used to show the central tendency for the ordinal scales and skewness to show the distribution of the population. In addition, percentages will be used for the nominal scale especially in the demographic and questions with non-likerty scale through the statistical package for social science (SPSS 20V).

In addition to this, some of the respondents was reluctant to provide responses to the questionnaires. The same is true with some of the officials and experts to conduct interviews due to shortage of time. In order to overcome these problems, the researcher was held continuous appointments with officials and experts, and was used the data and information obtained from them. On top of that, the researcher provided orientation and the necessary clarification about the purpose and importance of the study to the household respondents and arranged for them the possible appointments to respond to the questionnaires. Delay of respondents to fill the questionnaires was another challenge. Besides, the researcher faced problem of language barrier. To solve this problem the researcher translated the questionnaire developed in English into Somali language. Finally, the researcher faced lack of relevant secondary documents and organized data. The response rate for this survey was 100%. Based on the above information, data collected from households, interviews, personal observations and as well as from secondary sources are adequate to make analysis and interpret and discuss urban flood impacts and risk management measures in Jigjiga municipality.
