Six Dimensions of Health Worksheet
Part 1
For each of the following six dimensions of health, list at least one characteristic, activity, belief, or attitude that reflects that dimension in your life. Provide a brief explanation with each example. Refer to Ch. 1 in the text for explanations of these dimensions.
Physical health: Physical fitness, because I have always been in to being fit and in shape, and healthy.
Social health: interactions with others; I’ve always been a people person, and always focused on helping others and making sure they are happy with the results they receive.
Intellectual health: analyze critically, I’ve always been able to look in to things with greater detail than others to make sure that the decision that’s made is the right one, and also so that there are no points missed.
Environmental health: appreciation of environment, I’ve always been able to keep in touch with nature, I love the outdoors and preserving habitats and anything important to nature.
Emotional health: express emotions; I have always been one to show how I feel no matter what, and having close friends and family helps using them as a shoulder to lean on when I need to express how I feel about something.
Spiritual health: belief in supreme being; I’ve been raised in the Church, and I have always had the comfort of believing in God, and taking what believing in God means and applying it to my life.
Part 2
In approximately 125 to 200 words, describe health and wellness in your own words using the ideas and concepts for each of the six dimensions of health.
I think it is important to include all of the dimensions of health in your life, and focus on not just one, but all of them. Also, one is not more important than the other, if you don’t focus on all of them equally, they will be off balance, and that could lead to every other dimension falling apart and you begin to lose a lot in each dimension to
