Abraham Lincoln had many accomplishments throughout his life and during the civil war. One of those was his role in preserving the union and protecting it from confederate rule .He endured great pressure during the war but was brave and persevered. He also signed the emancipation proclamation which freed many slaves.
But He made sure that all slaves would be freed by making the 13th amendment. He also made himself a role model for future citizens. And as his nickname Honest Abe was very true . When it came to leadership abe accepted at it as he lead a nation to victory under extreme pressure during the war. All in all Abraham Lincoln had many great accomplishments and was an important part in the war.

He also lead the famous Sherman's March to the sea to cut off the confederates supply line hopefully winning the war for the union. He also became the leader of the military when Ulysses Grant Became president.
Attack on Fort Sumter
As the union troops were surrounded at fort sumter in charleston by confederate soldiers they were resupplied and the battle began. It was the first battle of the Civil war. There were no casualties but the confederates won as they took the fort and the union troops retreated.
THe union was greatly outnumbered as they were surrounded by many confederate militants as Fort Sumter is located in South Carolina A state that did succeed from the union.
