Period: 8th AN INFORMATIVE RESEARCH PAPER ON BULLYING (BULLYING AT SCHOOL) Bullying is a disturbingly common occurrence in many neighbourhoods, playgrounds, online, and in different grade level at school in the United States. The fact that children have and are being harassed by other children has been described in many works. Bullying is said to be a normal part of school life, but it should not be, bullying causes, physical and psychological damage to both the bully and the bullied. Historically, bullying is not a new problem; however people are becoming more and more aware of the negative impact it is having …show more content…
At that time a strong social interest in bully/victim problems arose in Scandinavia, Norway. Scandinavia school official did not take serious action against bullying until a newspaper report in 1982 revealed the three adolescent boys from Norway, had committed suicide because of severe bullying by peers (Olweus 1993). A natural interest was triggered prompting studies in which data was taken from about 140,000 students from 715 schools in Norway. About 15% of children from Norwegian school were involved in bullying frequently. About 94% were classified as the bullied and about 6% were classified as the …show more content…
