I used to work for a franchise. Everyone that was employed there was all the same race. I was the only person employed that was African American. I was singled out and I felt singled out, lonely, and felt as if I was attacked a majority of the time. I was outnumbered and I understood that. It was hard working somewhere knowing that I was different and singled out. I consider myself being able to be in all types of situations, and places when many different groups of people. Diversity is something I am a strong adovcate for. I agree, with Morrison when she said that diversity is necessary My own personal experiences and examples that she used in this chapter are why I believe her assumptions to be true and I agree.
