SUBJECT: Analysis of the general tablet industry, including its history, growth, development and current status. DATE: 11/8/2012
This report will provide information about the history of the personal tablet computer industry, dating back to almost twenty years ago. Older tablet models from the 1990’s will be analyzed and compared to the newer, current tablets that have had much more success with improved technology as well as sales.
I will focus on the most popular tablets that could not find an industry in the early 1990’s, and I will focus on analyzing Apple’s most obvious competitors that have success with tablet computers, such as Samsung and Amazon. I will search the internet for as many sources necessary to summarize specific tablets. Presented will be failures and successes of different models and the reasons for each. Success will be evident from the sales numbers of certain tablets.
This report will hopefully provide necessary facts and evidence that can contribute to the group report focused on providing a new marketing strategy for Apple’s iPad.
