Analyzing Lebron's Diet Choice
I think Lebron's diet choice was definitely a step in the right direction. The diet he described himself eatiing was a very "clean" diet. It mimics the paleo and ketogenic diets while excluding the consumption of dairy products. This is a diet format that is conducive for the reduction in systemic inflammation. The reduction inflammation can promote a stronger recovery iin the body, especially in indiividuals that are under high physiological stress throughout the year (I.E Professional Athletes). I think the "No carbs" statement is a bit of a misnomer. He openly admits to eating fruit and vegetables. It is that elimination of the simple carbohydrates , simple sugar, breads, grains, etc, that he is discussing.

In Luke Durward’s TED talk In “How to Make Healthy Eating” the best way to become a healthier person you have to change your environment. What if we do change our home environment does the world make it easy? Although you have gotten rid of all the trigger food in your house you can't control, food advertisements, that you see on tv, driving to work, and from pets at work and school who are eating unhealthy food right in front of you. The way that Luke says you can be successful is “that by removing the barriers of success, the right decisions can be easily taken without problems.” (Durward). The barriers in this case are trigger foods, and the success is getting to a healthy weight. This makes a lot of sense that if you live around healthy…

    Mayo Clinic Diet Analysis

The diets that I would recommend to a friend to help achieve a safe, healthy, effective and sustainable weight loss would be the Dash Diet, the TLC (Therapeutic Lifestyle change) Diet, and the Mayo Clinic Diet. I would consider these three diets to be among the best that were discussed on the websites. The Dash diet uses a healthier eating pattern as their key to weight loss. The Dash diet keeps salt, fats and sugar out of the diet plan, while allowing flexibility with meat, grains, vegetables and fruits, and suggests using seasonings and spices to replace the salt and sugar intake. The US News states that it is the most nutritionally complete diet plan. The TLC (Therapeutic Lifestyle change) Diet is a very heart healthy diet, that is endorsed by the American Heart Association.…

The American Way of Eating by Tracie McMillan exposes the true reality of our country’s food industry. Tracie goes undercover in unskilled jobs as a farmhand picking garlic and other things, stocking shelves at a Walmart, and as a waitress at Apple-bee's. An important aspect of the industry that I have come to find extremely problematic is that while working at Apple-bee's, Tracie received no food safety training, which I have learned is important to get a job in most places.…

I think that this topic is many important, not only for the athletes, also for all of us because we are the second country with obesity nowadays. So what I think about the diets in general, is that they are goods because with all of those meals we have to eat we will be healthier and with the right weight according to our organism. Many teenagers specially the girls make diets only for lose weight but they do not go with a nutriologist and of course they don’t know how to make a balance diet, so they think that with only eat vegetables they will lose weight but also it can give them many compications in their organism, they can get anemia. Also I think that is to good for the athletes to make diets because of the type of effort they do, so I am going to talk about many types of diets for the athletes.…

A friend of mine who was trying out for the football team at school recently approached me for help in developing a program to help him lose weight. I started by asking him questions regarding his dietary habits, his workout habits and how much time he has to spend working on his goal. I asked him a number of questions about what he hoped to achieve, not only for his short term goal of playing football, but for his long term goal of becoming healthier as well. Along with an exercise program that focused on the building of muscle strength necessary in sports, I also put together dietary guidelines that he followed in order to be successful in achieving his goal.…

My current eating habits are not very good. I eat fast food at least one time everyday whether it is breakfast, lunch or dinner with exception of Sunday. On Sunday I fix a home cooked meal. I have a sweet tooth so I tend to eat a lot of sweets from cookies to candy and everything in between I tend to over do it. My favorite meal is fried chicken wings, loaded mash potatoes, macaroni and cheese, cut green beans, jiffy cornbread muffins and for dessert triple chocolate cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I also have to have a soda when I eat. I do not eat many vegetables but I do eat a lot of broccoli and cheese lots of cheese. I have a bad habit of eating late ad then going to sleep on it. Gary Allen Fine wrote, “food identifies who we are, where we come from and what we want to be. Food reveals our souls.” Food studies are important and worthwhile because it shows us the bigger picture of food. How it personally affects us. Overeating in content six was an example of food studies, there were two readings from Belasco, Are We What We Eat and Kessler The End of Overeating they talked about pre-chewed foods and how many times the average American chews, which was 25 but is now reduced to ten times. We did a class activity where we focused on food engineering and psychobiology, the study of how the brain reacts to stimuli. We did a chip taste test in class with Doritos nacho cheese and shagbark, which was a type of corn chip. We tested the vanishing caloric density, hang time, and umami, flavor burst, and sensory specific satiety, dynamic contrast, and mouth…
