Dear Roswell Honda Consumers

A Typographical Error on Force Events and Ways to Consult
Firstly, we are sorry and embarrassed. But most of all, we are deeply sorry.

Last Monday, 10 August 2009 was the worst day in Roswell Honda’s eight year history. Following a typographical error made from Force Events declared each ticket for 30,000 consumers through e-mail to be the $1,000 grand prize winner in Everyone’s a Winner contest, we subjected our consumers to an unacceptable mistake and other major inconveniences. Although I already discovered the problem in early stage to prevent other 20,000 of the direct mailers from being distributed, but the remaining tickets were sent.

Words cannot express how truly sorry we are for the anxiety, frustration and inconvenience that we caused. This is especially saddening because Roswell Honda was bringing hope to these 30,000 consumers but we also destroy it. We are committed to you, our valued consumers, and are taking immediate corrective steps to regain your confidence in us. After approval from our chairman, Mr Stowell, we have decided to cancel the initial contest and have begun putting a comprehensive plan in place to underscore its commitment to good customer service. First of all, we are offering everyone who comes in to claim a prize a coupon for a free oil change. Nevertheless, this is a good news for everyone.

Most importantly, our company, Roswell Honda are also holding a new contest. We will record the names of everyone who comes in to claim a prize, and while consumers will not be awarded the initial $1,000, they will be entered into a second contest. After our meeting, we have come out with a conclusion that three names will be randomly selected, each for a $1,000 cash grand prize. In this case, we will do it carefully in order to achieve zero system error. We are confident, as a

In the book Dude,You’re a Fag, C.J. Pascoe attempts to explain the complex notions surrounding gender and sexuality through her analysis of the social dynamics present at River High School. C.J Pascoe prefaces the first chapter with a description of the Mr. Cougar ceremony: a series of actions performed by students which is concluded by a male winner. The series of events which encapsulate Mr. Cougar illustrate the traditional norms of masculinity and femininity by setting criteria that men or women must meet. For men, this means possessing physical strength, rejecting homosexuality and courting women. Contrarily, women must be passive and subject themselves to the actions of man (Pascoe 1).…

I regretfully have to reschedule my interview tomorrow. I have battled a lingering cough from bronchitis since July. Sharp pains in my chest caused me to go back to the doctors yesterday and I was then told I have a walking pneumonia. I recognize this doesn't seem like a good impression, so please accept my apology for the last-minute email and any inconvenience it may cause. I am available both Monday and Tuesday before 12:00pm or next Friday. Please let me know if any of these days work.…

Toyota used to sit on top of the world. It basked in the reputation of building high-quality cars efficiently. It enjoyed unprecedented growth, even surpassing General Motors as the largest car manufacturer in the world. But all of that came tumbling down with reports that cars were accelerating out of control, careening down highways, and putting everyone’s lives in danger. There was even a recording of a 911 call from an off-duty policeman who lost control of his car and died in the ensuing crash. Toyota responded with a recall of historic proportions—nearly 8 million cars in the United States and 1.8 million in Europe. But still, there was confusion about what was causing the problems—was it the floor mats, the braking system, the software controlling the engine, or something else? Conspiracy theorists argued that Toyota had no clue what was causing the sudden acceleration and that their recall was basically worthless.…

Honda was successful in invading the U.S. market fundamentally because they adopted a “market philosophy”, and allowed that clear strategic approach to permeate the company’s approach to marketing, sales, production, and R&D. This was in contrast to the incumbent U.S. and British motorcycle manufacturers, who failed to recognize success of Honda’s strategy in the Japanese market, leaving open the opportunity within the U.S.…
