Explaining things that people don't understand has always been a strong point in my time within the community. In sports, specifically volleyball, I am more experienced than most of the people in my grade. When someone is having trouble with a skill like hitting or passing I gladly help them and explain things in a way that is easy to understand. Another quality that I have, is the ability to effectively communicate with others. Not only am I able to communicate with people that I am helping, but also with leaders within this club. I can communicate clearly and professionally through; email, text, verbally, and on the phone. When I have a planned absence from a sport’s practice, I notify my coach at least twenty-four hours before the scheduled start time. My work ethic has always been a strong point within my years of schooling. I have never been tardy to a class or skipped class to do things that I think are more important. Working in groups or teams has always been something I am good at. Working with teams efficiently and effectively is very important, this is especially shown on sports teams, were at practice if one person is slacking off it's harder for…
Becoming the truest version of myself is something I have been pursuing throughout high school. While my personal and academic growth have catapulted throughout my time at Mariemont, I am searching for an undergraduate experience that will continue to form me into the woman I believe I can be.…
I have attached my unofficial transcript, and a picture of my recent grades if the pdf is unable to open. I understand that receiving a C in metabolism two will be in question as it does not reflect the academic performance expected of me. I assure you this will be my last unsatisfactory depiction of my intentions for pursuing a career in family medicine. I admittedly lost a part of my drive as I stressed over the reality of having a below average GPA and got caught up in the admission process. I was taking three classes over the summer while studying for the MCAT at this time, and juggled writing my personal statement which allowed me to express situations in my life I had never explained to anyone before. My metabolism professor was absent the first three weeks of class as she was on…
In high school, I always considered myself a good student. I payed attention in class, took notes, and genuinely took interest in my education. As a college student, I have tried to do the same thing. Of course, college is not quite the same as high school, and I have not always gotten the near-perfect results I used to expect. While I am working on my perfectionism as a separate issue, I am glad to take this opportunity to learn more about how to succeed in college. Three strategies I learned in this chapter include how to better prepare before class, how to review after class, and how to improve my note-taking strategies.…
In this writing I will be discussing where I started from, the support system I had, my feelings and what they are now, my five professors and how they have helped me, where I am now in regards to our tests and asking for assistance, and balancing my life, on how I had to change my daily routine and how I did…
Attending a community college in the summer of my junior after receiving a deplorable grade has proved the most influential academic experience I have ever had. Before, I stood believing that college independence allows students a more fluid and easier time with challenging classes than high school students. Instead, the adults surrounding me were struggling to attend class due to financial hardships, family incidents, and too much self-reliance. I started realizing that a multitude of students, including myself, were overlooking the privilege of family and school support. I began taking advantage of office hours and peer tutoring, assuring myself an understanding of Pre-Calculus before returning to school. Following advice from classmates,…
Regarding the question on how this class helped me to be successful in nursing school, it really did not help me to be successful. My lowest grade in my junior one term was an 84 and my GPA was 3.25. So far for this term my average class grade will be 88. In fact this class took time away from studying for other classes,…
For my semester, it has been relatively good. The bad thing was that the class was kind of really early, but other than that, I really got into the habit of waking up early and being productive through the day. Without this early class, I would’ve been waking up late into the day, wasting it. I am currently enrolled in 4 classes: Math, English, Political Science, and Astronomy. I have no idea what I’m doing with the 2 extracurricular classes but I’m having fun learning about new things. I spend about 14 hours a week in all my classes, as for trying to study and working, I am limited on how much I can study because I have 2 jobs which means 7 days a week of work. I spend about 40 hours or more between the two jobs just trying to make some extra money. For your class, I spend about an hour on homework at times trying to figure out the ridiculous questions and how to answer it the right way which sometimes pisses me off (no offense to you, I blame the site). I really do enjoy online homework, makes it easier to remember and to do. I feel like Logs and Ln is my strong suit as I have had a bit of practice before and the hardest for me would’ve been the exponents. As for the midterm, We had a midterm? I didn’t think that starting off in the school year, I would be having two jobs at once as I was trying to just look for one, but the opportunity arise and I just seized it. It has really changed my life as now I have to juggle school with two jobs at once plus putting time to do some personal relaxation. I am trying to get out of my old lazy habits and get into the “always working attitude.” I feel like if I had a test of…
While time spent at college is a fond memory and a happy experience for most, college life is not without its rough patches and problems. While each persons problems are unique to their current circumstances, I know that there are a few problems that almost all college students deal with at least once during their time at school. If you are on your way into college you might want to get a jump on how to deal with the 10 Common Problems Students Face During College. If you are reading for the sake of remembrance and posterity, I would ask that you try and throw a few good memories into the mix as you plod through the problems that once plagued you in your youth, or not so distant past.…

I found minor problems during the first week of my new semester. First thing is my seating position in writing class. It was too far from professor that sometimes I miss her direction and lose my concentration. I hope I can be at the front line someday. Second thing is my missing required subject. I gave up taking the course to earn money. Now, I’m planning to take it during summer or winter session but…
