Problem Definition: Work Place Violence
Workplace violence is an act of aggression, physical assault, or threatening behavior that occurs in a work setting and causes physical or emotional harm to customers, coworkers, or managers. Broad definitions of workplace violence also often include acts of sabotage on work‐site property.
Justifications for Problem Definition.
1‐ Psychological problems and mental illness . where the employee cannot think in a proper way to solve his problems such as Financial problems ,Termination , Personality conflicts …etc 2‐ Drugs and Alcohol Addiction
Alternatives Course of Actions
1‐ Drugs and Alcoholic periodic tests 2‐ Medical Inspection 3‐ Training for the employee how to recognize the Potential threats and reporting the cases 4‐ Regular meetings for the employees to hear their complains and discuss with them the negative points they face within the company.
Alternatives Evaluations
1‐ Drugs and Alcoholic tests : a. People under the effect of Drugs and Alcohols can do un controlled actions b. Regular tests discover the percentage of drugs and Alcohol in Blood and shows if the employee addicted or not. c. Addicted Employee should be terminated and this should be rules the employee know from starting Date 2‐ Medical Inspection: People cannot go through physical violence specially killing and suicide within a workplace unless he has a mental problem. a. Annual Medical Inspection should be done to the employee
b. Employee who threaten his colleagues and try to shot them or suicide suffers from Medical Illness , so whatever problem he face within the company he cannot think properly which leads to violence either verbal or physical 3‐ Training for the employee how to
