Character: Personality Psychology and School
ter Character is the summation of qualities, actions and tendencies which distinguish people from another. Eventually, our character is what we do when no one is looking. Human personality should always be praised and no one should ever put anyone down for having a different kinds of personality. It is truly just allowing people to be who they are unless they are in violation of other human’s rights. A part from that, our character actually change based on the environment and it is different from our actual character. So basically people will have different kind of characteristic for different situation in their life. A quote that I live by is, “People don’t always behave the way they use to, but it doesn’t mean the way they behave is wrong.” Everyone has their own reasons to be a hypocrite. Some of the reasons can be good and some can be bad. It is all based on the individual situations. As for me, I also keep changing my attitude based on different condition I bumped in. The two part of my life that are conspicuously different are myself as a student and myself at my own hometown. I am a well-behaved student in school, dissimilar with my active behaviour at home. This shows that I have a double life. I change my attitude without realizing it. I do this as for my own way to survive in two different situations. The contrast part of my life is my personalities when I was in school and when I was at home. Firstly, the contrast in my double life is my appearance. I studied in an Islamic school in Kajang. The school’s ordinance is very strict compare to the other school based on my research. My outer appearance in school is extremely different from my outer appearance at home or outside from school. In school, I looked like a very shy and humble person. I always wore a formal entire and always followed all the school rules. Everyone respected me for my great discipline. All the teachers also like me for my good and kind attitude.

Nichols and May’s skills as storytellers lie in their understanding of human relationships, a mastery that is expressed in the sketch through their delivery of character. The improvisational nature of Nichols and May’s dynamic is apparent in the conversational tone of this sketch. Nichols and May play off each other well and develop the relationship between the mother and son in a short amount of time. The dysfunction of this relationship drives the scene by creating conflict, which the characters exploit to the fullest extent. For instance, the mother in the sketch begins the call normally and proceeds to guilt trip her son with hyperbolized ¬¬reactions. May’s delivery emphasizes the nagging, worrisome traits of the character. The exaggeration of her character’s dysfunction is the focus of humor in the skit. However, once the sketch breaks down to reveal the emotional truth of the characters, the growing distance in the relationship between mother and son, a sense of gravitas hits the audience and asks us to consider our the…

The British naturalist and politician John Lubbock wrote, “Your character will be what you yourself choose to make it.” I agree with John Lubbock, because I believe we choose our character traits. We make decisions in our lives, some life changing decisions, some small irrelevant decisions, that could change our minds according to how we process our choices. Our personality affects our character heavily, our personality tells one everything about us. Our character is also affected by our ability to perceive things positively or negatively. I believe that we chose our character traits by the decisions that we make, our personality, and our ability to perceive things in a positive or a negative way.…

My character has always been an important concept within my life. This is because character is comprised of honesty, selflessness, and compassion. No matter what the situation is, it has always been imperative to me to be honest with not just those around me, but with myself. For example, I once noticed that an instructor had given me a higher grade than I deserved on a quiz, I never hesitated to report the mistake and made sure that my work was graded…

“Character is a set of behavior traits that define what sort of person you are. Your moral or ethical qualities if you like – qualities of honesty, courage, integrity, trustworthiness, respectfulness, responsibility, caring and compassion. People judge your personal character by their perception of how you respond to challenges. Someone who perseveres in the face of adversity and works persistently to complete a task or sees something through is generally thought to be someone of good character.” Once wrote Karon Graham.…

When most people think of character they often associate it with the idea of having to do the right thing. I on the other hand believe character is more than just doing what is morally righteous. Our experiences, obstacles and most importantly, passion define our true character. Passion establishes the difference between obligation or choice and giving up or persevering. Our actions result from the passion we choose to dedicate towards different aspects of our lives including school, work, extracurricular activities and community service. Everyone values these aspects differently and that is what allows for each of us to have our own unique character. I believe people have a more powerful influence when they have a true sense of passion for what they are doing.…

Character plays a role in who I am and who I seek to be. My parents taught me to be obedient and listen to others. At first, I thought being obedient means to follow rules so you would not get in trouble. In school, I would be the student who always followed the rules: no talking when the teachers talking, clean up after yourself, and finish your work at the proper time. Every year from kindergarten to middle school, I would get recognition…

Having character is being trustworthy, honest, empathetic and respectful. This means doing the right thing even when nobody's watching. I always search for the best in everyone because no one is perfect and we all have made poor decisions in our lifetime. I take responsibilities in my actions and others I am responsible for. It is difficult for me to admit that I am wrong but I still do because it is the right thing to do. I have had a friend who was suffering from depression and wanted to harm themselves. I was scared for them because depression is a disease and it is not their fault that they are like that. I had them speak to an adult and they are currently recovering. I was very scared that she had cut marks on her wrist because it could have gotten worst. I cried because I did not want to lose a friend. On a field trip, I found a five dollar bill on the pavement. I asked the first adult I saw who was slightly ahead of me if it was hers. She said that it must have dropped out of her purse when she was walking. The teacher was really surprised because she said I could have easily kept it for myself. I would feel bad if I took someone else’s money even if it was just lying…

Of the many ways that exist to classify and conceptualize individual differences, some are obvious and somewhat visible, such as gender, race, language, origin and / or social background. Other forms, perhaps not as visible, are nonetheless influential distinctions such as culture or personality. The personality, like many things in life can be difficult to explain, is what makes every human being different, unique and exceptional. Today, the personality is an issue around the world. It reflects who we really are. Although most people use the term "personality" to identify the most obvious characteristics of a persons, psychologists are addressed in regards to this to explain why people with similarity in genetic background, experience and motivations can react quite differently to the same situation, and to explain why people with different genetic, experience and / or motivations past, but similar reactions to a single event. I intend to share with you my account of the personality, as it defines me as an individual and finally I will discuss what factors make a personality test is reliable and valid.…

Character is the mental and moral qualities distinctive to an individual. Martin Luther King Jr. once said “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character”. What would happen in the world if people were judged by what is on the inside and not what you see? People would have to take the time to get to know people before they could conclude anything about them, and maybe if compassion was the driving force in the world, people would be more accepting and loving. Instead of labeling people, the world would be a much better place if we approached others with compassion and a sense of justice about their character and not how they physically look.…
