Child Development Personal Statement Essay

Studying child development/developmental psychology means more to me than a university subject that would be learned for a specific number of hours per week. It is undoubtedly an influential part of the society and something I’m very passionate about. I’ve always been fascinated by the human mind, how it works and how it influences the actions we make and our behavior. Then the interest developed as I started studying psychology, which I have distinctly enjoyed studying. Prior to my undergraduate’s education I have always felt love for children and how they behave and I grew an interest in figuring out how they think, which is what influenced my decision to study psychology at an undergraduate level. While studying psychology at Covenant University
I have been taught a lot on the human mind to the human mind, I want to learn more about the developmental process from birth, why children feel the need to cry because their ice cream melts or their favorite toy falls on the ground. I am especially interested in child development/developmental psychology, because it is at this level of the childs life that their personality begins to develop, as children are affected by their surroundings hence what they gather from experience, they convey their while life. What attracted me the most to this program in the University of Kent/ University college London was the way in which the University had the ideal balance of academic and student life experiences which I believe would help lead to the achievement of my professional goals. While researching the course and the modules offered, I believe this program would help me ascertain the required knowledge on child development/developmental psychology and would be of a very great advantage in the pursuit of my professional goals. I believe I would benefit from the mode of teaching employed by this University, which would enable me to gain from the dynamic and diverse environment from innovative research and learning. I am certain what I would learn from the professionals delivering the lectures if given admission into this university would have a far fetching impact on my future career. Studying at the university would enable me to gain knowledge which will help me in achieving both my short and long term career
