1. Appreciate childhood as a unique and valuable stage of the human life cycle.
Through my studies of early childhood I have a better understanding how imperative it is for each child to have a safe, healthy and well-rounded childhood to make them functional and successful adults. As a teacher, it will be my task to create the secure environment and guide each child through this valuable stage of development. As a mother of an eight year old and a three year old, I have been blessed to watch my children grow and develop through this wonderful and unique chapter of their life. 2. Appreciate and support the bond between the child and family.
My family has helped me become who I am today. I have been very blessed to have a very loving and supportive family my whole life. Respect diversity in children, families, and colleagues.
The United States has become a very diverse country and as a teacher I will be working with multicultural children and families. I had several patients from different cultural backgrounds as a dental hygienist. I found them to be fascinating and loved hearing about their background. As a teacher and as a society I believe we need to embrace diversity instead of rejecting it. It will be my duty as a teacher to make sure my classroom accepts diversity and one way of accomplishing that is by being an excellent role model. 7. Recognize that children and adults achieve their full potential in the context of relationships that are based on trust and respect.
Trust and respect are two fundamentally key components in any relationship. We all perform better at our jobs, become better friends, and build better personal relationships with these elements present. Keeping trust and respect for all individuals entering my classroom will only make my goal of making a difference in my student’s lives much easier to
