Chinese Horoscope Signs
Year of the Monkey What Chinese horoscope sign do you have? Does your personality fit the description? My sign is the monkey; the monkey is supposed to be sharp, smart, very funny, can always make people laugh, and are very good at solving problems, always ready to help others, compassionate, and sometimes stubborn. A Chinese horoscope sign is when the Chinese calendar is divided into 12-year cycles. Each of the 12 years is named after a different animal.

I think I fit in most of the traits. Those traits would be sharp, smart, funny, can make people laugh, ready to help others, okay at solving problems, compassionate, and I could be stubborn at times.

When I call myself sharp

Throughout history, Taoism has been one of the most influential religions in the Eastern culture. It is one of the most unique of all religions. In fact, many Taoists do not even consider it as a religion, and in many ways it is not. They make no claim that Tao exists. Although very different from others, Taoism also has very important unique symbols. Yin yang diagram, the most important symbol of Taoist represents the movement of heaven or the Tao. The small dots represent the fact that there is good in the evil, as there is evil in the good. Another important symbol of Taoism is the eight trigrams or pakua. Last but not least the dragon is one of the yang symbols, which represents the power, sage and saint.…

The Yin Yang symbol also commonly referred to as the Tai-Chi symbol is easily thought of in today’s popular culture as a reference to the Sun (yang) the moon (yin) and the universe. Allen Tsai’s article provides some insight into the origins of the symbol itself, the meaning behind the curvature of the symbol, and how the Chinese symbol has found a place in popular culture. Allen Tsai goes into explicit detail on how the Chinese developed a surprising understanding of the stars and how they used the constellations and the sun to determine the seasons, the length of a calendar year and the time of the earths rotation around the sun. Tsai explains how the symbol is at its basic meaning a “Chinese representation of the entire celestial phenomenon.” In Alexia Amvrazi’s essay discussing the Evil Eye symbol, she presents all aspects of the symbol including what it is used for, who uses it, and why it is used. She explains that the Evil Eye is “a glance believed to have the ability to harm those on whom it falls” and can take place at any given time from any given person. (Amvrazi).…

There are many characteristics that could be used to describe me. I am very outgoing, committed, action-oriented, and organized, among many other things. Sadly not all of my traits are considered positive; I can be considered high strung, stress driven, controlling, and having a strong desire to always need to impress. All of my positives are very helpful in anything that involves people, especially planning and organizing events which is something I have done many times in high school and also college. With all of these traits in mind, I agree with the psychodynamic perspective, which is a personality that is primarily unconscious (King, 2013, pg.362), I believe that our characteristics are created by our reaction to society and then certain traits stick and become a part of us without even realizing it. One trait that I significantly gained awareness to and utilized to my full advantage in my senior year of high school and still use is being action-oriented. I made connections to people easily and in team-based situations I was the one that made sure people stayed focused, while still making sure that everyone felt their opinions were still being heard. I often just assumed responsibility, and made sure all issues came to closure in a positive way, this was something that I believe that I just grew up learning and knowing because I am the oldest of seven children.…
