If you're like millions of Americans, you've either recently purchased, or you're seriously thinking about purchasing your first gun. Whether you decided that you'd like to go to a range to try out a few different types of firearms to see what works best, or you are trying to maximize your skill level. You will find that having a little instruction will go a long way in not only safety, but it's always a lot more exciting when your hitting the target more often. Having an experience mentor you trust or a licensed Certified will go a long way in firearm ownership.
What to Expect
Going to the range is fun and easy, once you know a few simple rule. I know it can be intimidating to some, but you don't want to be "that guy" on the firing range, and most importantly SAFETY is the most important rule at any facility. Aside from that, there is a lot of different types of ranges, some are indoor, some are outdoor, others will let you rent a firearm, and others will have very strict rules on what type of targets you can shoot at, as well as what firearms are permitted to shoot at the facility. If you have not been to a range, I would always suggest to call ahead to verify the hours they are open, what types of guns and targets are available to shoot at the range.
