First off, it is essential to have good communication skills, because a dietitian has to be able to explain new concepts to people. Next, a dietitian has to have a positive personality. A dietitian also has to be able to multitask. When a dietician is talking to someone they need to be able to talk to them and also interpret the information to use for the person’s diet plan. They also need to have good leadership skills, and be able to work both independently and in a group. An experienced clinical dietitian will most likely, at times, have the responsibility of helping dietetic intern students and newly hired staff (Mayo Clinic). Part of being a dietitian is dealing with people's problems all day, how people act is what determines the quality of a dietitians work(Brantner, Joslyn). Most of the other stresses that come from being a dietitian simply have to do with paper and desk work. Other than desk work, being a dietitian can be a rather rewarding occupation.
