In the management environment, communication is a very important as it is used to inform, share or receive information in order to get a desired outcome or to make the needs of the business clear. A manager communicates to give general feedback or to monitor the progress of a task and provide support or training which in turn can improve staff morale. Knowledge sharing or best practice can help a manager build relationships and develop teams by promoting a feeling of unity and encouraging team spirit.
Communication is a two way process, and can be used by employees to understand what is required of them or to get a response to a concern or query. A manager that is a good communicator promotes ideas and motivates individuals by influencing or changing attitudes and behaviour.
